We’ve committed $5 from every sale to i=Change. You complete your order, then choose which of our three projects receives that funding – Empower with Literacy, Empower Women, or Restore Nature. The donation is funded by us, shown transparently, and tracked so you can follow the impact.
Why we do it is simple: giving back isn’t branding, it’s responsibility. We’re a small independent atelier, so our total contributions will scale with us, but i=Change creates immediate value today – each purchase prompts a moment of choice and understanding, not just a receipt. NGO: Australian Literacy & Numeracy Foundation
Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children continue to fall through the cracks of our education system, trapping them in a cycle of vulnerability and illiteracy. This devastating gap is particularly evident in remote Indigenous communities, where the writing abilities of year 9 students are at year 1 level. If not addressed in the early years, this issue continues into adulthood.
In remote areas, up to 70% of Aboriginal adults are ‘functionally illiterate’. This is a national tragedy.
We believe literacy is freedom; to take control of your life, be informed, have a voice, stand up for your rights, resist exploitation, be self-confident and self-reliant. Literacy unlocks the door to learning and a world of endless possibilities.
The Australian Literacy and Numeracy Foundation is transforming lives through community-driven, ground-breaking and best practice literacy programs. Working in English and Indigenous First Languages, ALNF is committed to creating sustainable, long-term change.
Why We Chose This Initiative
We work on unceded Country; respect means action. Backing ALNF helps Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children build literacy in English and First Languages—agency, voice, and choice. As a house built on storytelling, we believe literacy is imperative to change.

NOG: Carbon Positive Australia
Australia’s biodiversity is rich and unique. 7-10% of all species on Earth are located in Australia, and 85% of plant species are endemic to the continent.
Yet Australia is among the worst on conversing biodiversity. However, restoring biodiversity can be as easy as planting a tree.
Carbon Positive Australia is committed to supporting tree-planting activities to combat climate change and regenerate the land.
Their expertise lies in biodiverse species selection, planting native species, trees and shrubs, creating habitats, capturing carbon, and restoring land subjected to erosion or salinity.
Why We Chose This Initiative
Fashion extracts, dyes, ships, and dumps – its footprint lands first on Country. We support Carbon Positive Australia to restore habitat with biodiverse native plantings that repair damaged land. If we make anything at all, we must also help heal where we live.

NGO: Pollinate Group
Between India and Nepal, over 288 million people still live in poverty.
Unstable low-wage jobs keep families in a cycle of intergenerational poverty. Gender inequality – as an additional challenge – means women have fewer resources to cope.
Communities lack access to clean energy sources for lighting and cooking, often using instead harmful fuels like kerosene, to which women are most exposed.
Pollinate Group exists to empower women to become micro-entrepreneurs by distributing life-changing products such as solar lights, fans, water filters and female sanitary products across marginalised communities in urban slums and rural villages in India and Nepal.
Pollinate also provides training in digital and financial literacy, marketing, sales and other business skills to improve women’s opportunities to succeed.
Why We Chose This NGO
Much of fashion’s supply chain rests on the underpaid labour of women in India and Nepal. As a female-led atelier, we back Pollinate Group to equip women as micro-entrepreneurs with training and life-improving products – income, safety, agency. Our industry helped create the problem; we choose to help fund the fix.

How does i=Change work with Kargede?
We pledge $5 from every sale. After checkout you choose one of our three projects to receive the funds. The donation is paid by us, not added to your total.
Why i=Change specifically?
I=Change is not a marketing tool; it is an educational one. By inviting customers to choose one of three NGOs to receive a donation from their purchase, I=Change creates a moment to pause and consider the work being done for people and planet. That brief reflection can instil awareness that grows into understanding and, eventually, larger action.
As an independent atelier, our donation is modest today and will steadily grow with us as we scale. For now, the real value is the education i=Change creates. It’s meaningful action at a stage when our avenues for impact are limited, but our passion for change is not.
Who funds the $5?
Kargede does. It is not a surcharge and it does not change your shipping or pricing.
Can I donate more?
Yes. You can make an additional personal donation directly on the project page. We’ll include links after checkout.
What happens if I return my order?
If your order is refunded before donation is finalised, the pledge is cancelled. If the donation has already been sent, it stands.
Is my $5 tax-deductible?
No. The $5 is Kargede’s donation. If you make an extra personal donation directly to a project, that receipt is in your name.
Why do you give back?
If we put something into the world, we help improve it. That’s our part of our ethos. i=Change also creates a moment to learn and choose, not just pay and leave.
What if I don’t select a project after purchase?
The pledge amount will still be allocated, at random, to one of the three NGO’s
Does the pledge apply to every order?
Yes, for all product sales including pre-orders. It does not apply to alterations-only or repair-only services.
Does my choice affect my delivery or price?
No. Your selection only directs the $5 donation Kargede makes.
Can I see the impact?
Yes. You’ll see your contribution in the I=Change widget after checkout, and you can view our live impact total any time by clicking here.
Is my data safe?
Yes. i=Change receives only the information needed to allocate your $5 and show impact. Your payment details are never shared with i=Change.
